Rested

Somehow I have managed to find myself totally relaxed after this weekend.  Not sure what made this weekend different from the recent past…but I’ll take it!!  I had a good mix of ‘me time’ and socializing.  Actually spent time out socializing both Friday and Saturday night…which is certainly out of the norm.

It would be great to have a few more days off, but at least I am not dreading my trip to the office tomorrow.

Thumbs up

After five days I can say with certainty that my iPhone rocks

Tech Whore

Yes, I was one of the multitude of folks that actually waited in line for an iPhone.

Camp

Happy 4th everyone.  MIke and I are headed out today to the Oroville area for a camping trip.  It’s actually been a few years since we’ve done any camping, so this will be a big change from our normal routines.

Our dogs are not as happy about this trip as we are….they have to stay at home with one of our neighbors for this trip.  We’ll be spending too much time out on a boat, not to even mention the hassel of trying to get them to lay down in a tent.

Pride

Pride weekend is upon us again.  It’s easy to tell…it’s freakin cold again.  I can remember one Pride weekend in the past 10 years that has been really nice out… one where it was actually too hot…a few that have been downright cold…and the rest just ‘on the cool side’.

I’m figuring that there will be a bit more of a celebratory feel to the events this year considering the marriage decision.  Probably a few more protesters as well.  Luckily they tend to kinda disappear into the crowd…just too many supportive people for the protesters to really stand out.

I’ve debated on attending the actual parade or not…it does tend to go on and on and on and on and… Still, it is a great people watching opportunity, and photo opportunity.  Which means I’ll probably end up standing along Market Street by 10am as usual.  hehe.

I’ll certainly be catching at lease one of the performances at the Pride Festival…Cyndi Lauper is going to be performing!  You can see more about the whole event by visiting the SF Pride 2008 website.

and then again…

I thought things at work would be a bit less hectic for me this week.

Amazing how wrong I can be.

I still feel like I am simply caught in the current of a rushing river…being hammered against a rock from time to time.

I’m sure next week will be better.

Calming

Things seem to have calmed down for me at work a bit.   The past few weeks were just too much.  I felt like I was being pulled in too many different directions at once.  I wasn’t even sure where to start with all the different ‘top priority’ tasks I had.  Now at least I feel I can manage my different projects.  My sanity appears to be safe..at least for now.

We Can

To say it is a joyous time here in San Francisco is a bit of an understatement.

Civic Duty

So, I get to do one of my civic duties on Monday…jury duty!  I only hope that I am found to be an unacceptabel juror quickly.  This simply is not a good time for me to be out of the office.  Way too many things going on.  Of course, that is pretty much the norm.  Can’t think of when it would be good for me too get called to a long trial!

Preparations

I’ve spent my weekend trying to relax as much as possible.  I know that the next few weeks are going to be a bit busy.  Nothing unexpected for this time of year, just a lot of things that need to be reviewed or rejected in as quickly as possible.  Luckily Mike is out of town for the next two weeks…lets me work a bit more without feeling like I’m ignoring him.  With a little luck I’ll have the bulk of the work done by the time he gets home.
